Planning and Preparation

Our program’s co-teachers work together to develop weekly lesson plans that build ideas and concepts as they progress through the seasons.  For example, a week-long spring activity that teaches how a Monarch butterfly matures from a chrysalis uses natural science as a means to also teach math, language, and related art projects.  Books from our library support each lesson (e.g. From Caterpillar to Butterfly, by Deborah Heiligman) while indoor and outdoor butterfly spotting games bring the lesson to life.
