Toddler - Creative Arts

Dancing, storytelling, painting, singing, and drawing – these daily activities enrich the growth of language and motor skills in a dynamic, engaging manner for each child.

Visual Arts – Our toddlers experience and explore the feeling, shape, color, and texture of a variety of materials such as string, paper, paint, sponges, crayons, shaving cream, and pasta.  As a part of the MCC Drawing Curriculum our toddlers learn to identify and draw curves, lines, dots and angles – elements that combine to form any object or letter.  Our focus on developing a rich, descriptive vocabulary helps lay a foundation for observational and predictive skills cultivated during the preschool years.

Performing Arts – Through singing with puppets, participating in interactive stories and dancing, our toddlers absorb the pitch, rhythm, melody, and beat of language and music.  During dramatic play our teachers identify tasks and emotions connected to real and fanciful situations.  A variety of basic percussion instruments allow the exploration of sound and rhythm.
