School Age - Physical

Gross Motor Running, jumping, rolling, swimming, throwing, catching, balancing are all activities you will see on a daily basis in our fields.  With acres of outdoor space, our environment naturally supports the growth of our children’s growing physical abilities.

Group Games – Group Games are team-based games that require children to work together to compete against an opposing team.  These games facilitate the development of cooperative strategic thinking along with managing emotions elicited from winning or losing.  We play various running games such as Capture the Flag, Run Across, and Ship Wreck and dodgeball games such as Medic, Prisoner, and Team Dodgeball.

Sports – Children are taught the fundamental skills of various sports though games that focus on practicing the fundamentals of the game.  Some of the sports we teach are Basketball, Baseball, Flag Football, Soccer, and Volleyball.

Fine Motor Through various art and manipulative materials, our children are supported to develop their dexterity on tasks that are both physically and cognitively challenging.  Some of our activities include building with wee bocks, clay, cross-stitch, drawing, jewelry, model building, origami, sewing, and woodworking.
